London, United Kingdom – On a day we suppose dey celebrate, Arsenal under-18s head coach Adam Birchall dey drop some serious matter as him remember former academy player, Billy Vigar, wey waka go meet our ancestors last Thursday.
After dem draw 2-2 with Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, Birchall no fit hold back as him talk about the late 21-year-old forward wey contribute a lot for the academy. “I no be him main coach, but I dey take am for some striker training and those kind things. When I dey think of am, my face dey shine bright like power bank,” he talk. (E be like say dem fit use him for motivational speaker!)
According to Birchall, Vigar na person wey dey committed to improvement. “E get that kind resilience wey fit make person go far. As e go dey collect ideas and feedback, e dey use am change im game,” he add. “We get plenty fun times for training, as we dey practice finishing and all. As human being, he na exceptional person, and as player, him get mad talent.”
But no be only joy dey fill this matter. Birchall drop heavy words about how e go miss Billy dey try and push other players to shine too. “E really sad. Now, we dey think about him family, and our hearts, prayers and love dey go out to dem,” he conclude. (E no easy at all, my paddy).
