The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State don suspend seven of their members indefinitely over allegations of anti-party activities. This decision was made by the party leadership in the Sagbama Local Government Area of the state.
Those affected by the suspension include Barr. Peres Peretu, Hon. Matthew Karimo, Major Oputa, Hon. Tangi Samuel, King Bolouyi Sufadoh, Hon. Goodluck Ebomu, and Hon. Youdio-gwei. These individuals are reportedly loyal to Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, and the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo‘s ally, Heineken Lokpobiri.
The announcement of the suspension was made by the Chairman of the APC in Sagbama Local Government Chapter, Jonah Abeke. This move comes amidst rising tensions within the party in Bayelsa State.
In a related incident, hoodlums linked to the APC attacked and injured some journalists in Bayelsa during a party event. This violence highlights the escalating conflicts within the party and its impact on the broader community.
