Anthony Joshua, di former two-time world unified heavyweight champion, still dey grapple with di aftermath of his devastating knockout loss to Daniel Dubois. Di fight, which happen last month at Wembley, see Joshua dropped four times before Dubois finish him off 59 seconds into di fifth round, retaining his IBF heavyweight title in di process.
Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter and Matchroom Boxing chief, reveal say Joshua still dey weigh his options regarding a potential rematch. Hearn talk on DAZN say, “As with all of these fights, di man in di middle is his exellency, so it’s not just always Frank and I talking about making a fight. It’s his exellency talking to Frank, talking to me, and of course we’re talking as well- keeping everybody in di loop.”
Hearn add say Joshua dey take his time to decide, especially since di loss still fresh. “He’s devastated by di defeat, Daniel’s had a great time in Brazil as di new champion and well deserved…. He’s thinking hard, he’s resting di body, he’s having a think about what he’s going to do,” Hearn explain.
Experts like Johnny Nelson from Sky Sports also chime in, saying Joshua has “no excuses” after di loss. Nelson suggest say Joshua should hang up his gloves, but Hearn hint say Joshua might still be leaning towards di rematch to win back di world heavyweight title.
With other big fights on di horizon, including Fury-Usyk rematch, Joshua’s next move dey under intense speculation. However, Hearn insist say di final decision go be Joshua’s to make.
