The Victor Tulutu Briggs Foundation don dey make waves again as dem announce say dem dey award scholarship to 50 undergraduate and postgraduate students. Dis announcement happen during the maiden youth political participation and governance training programme wey the foundation organize in collaboration with the University of Port Harcourt.
The event, which hold recently, see the presence of big names like the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Prof Owunari Abraham George Will, and Prof Fidelis Allen, among other high-ranking security personnel and members of the academia.
The youth event gather 50 participants from the 23 local government areas of the state, including some non-indigenes. The speakers at the event emphasize say the programme aim to reduce the involvement of youths in violence, especially in the political space.
The Vice-Chancellor of the university express his happiness with the partnership with the foundation and thank Dr Victor Briggs for his kindness. The participants also promise to reciprocate by not allowing themselves to be used by politicians to perpetrate violence.
