Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, don sign three important laws on Wednesday, and one of dem be Ekiti State Property Protection (Anti land grabbing, second amendment law, 2024). Dis law go help regulate and sanitise land acquisition processes for the state.
The anti-land grabbing law go prohibit forceful entry, illegal occupation of landed properties, and any fraudulent or violent conducts related to land in Ekiti. Oyebanji talk say dis law go bring end to the problem of land grabbers wey dey disturb growth and development for the state.
Other laws wey Oyebanji sign include High Court Law (first amendment, 2014) and Ekiti State Legislative House (Powers and Privileges) Law, 2024. The Speaker of the House, Adeoye Aribasoye, and other top officials like Deputy Governor Monisade Afuye, Deputy Speaker Bolaji Olagbaju, and Secretary to the State Government Habibat Adubiaro, all attend the ceremony.
Oyebanji praise the members of the seventh assembly for their support, saying dat without dem, he no fit achieve anything. He also talk say the next two years go see more achievements pass what dem achieve for the first two years.
The event happen at the executive council chamber, Governor’s Office, Ado-Ekiti, and it mark another step in advancing democracy and safeguarding citizens’ rights in Ekiti State.
