The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) don dey show dem commitment to help people wey dey suffer from flood for Borno State. Dem just complete one airlift mission on October 16, 2024, to carry relief materials to flood victims for Maiduguri, Borno State. The materials wey dem carry, na First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, donate under the “Renewed Hope Agenda” initiative.
The relief materials, which include food items, clothing, sanitary essentials, and toys for children, were transported from Abuja to Maiduguri aboard a NAF C-130 aircraft. Dis materials go help communities wey dey suffer from the devastating floods wey happen on September 10.
NAF officers, led by the Air Component Commander of Operation HADIN KAI, receive the materials for Maiduguri before dem hand am over to the Borno State government to distribute to the flood victims. According to Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, Director of Public Relations and Information for NAF, dis mission show say NAF dey committed to providing timely humanitarian assistance, especially for regions wey natural disasters dey affect badly.
NAF also launch one medical outreach programme and provide food for over 2,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Borno State as part of their response to the flood crisis. The collaboration between the First Lady’s office and NAF emphasize the importance of collective efforts to ease the suffering of those affected by the flood in Borno State.
