Wigwe Varsity No Start Academic Activities Yet, But Here Be Latest on Nigerian Universities

As of now, there be no news that any university named after Wigwe has started academic activities. However, there be several developments in the education sector in Nigeria that dey worth mentioning.

Prof Toyin Falola, a renowned historian, don introduce the African Ancestral Studies programme at the University of Ghana. This new programme aim to correct distortions and present a more accurate picture of Africa’s rich intellectual history. It will help reshape the study of African history and culture, focusing on indigenous perspectives and empowering students to view the world through African lenses.

In another development, UBA Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of the United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, announce the 2024 National Essay Competition with a double grant prize. This initiative aim to support and encourage students in their academic pursuits.

Additionally, the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) unveil the schedule for the 2024 NBBF Men’s Premier Basketball League, which will feature top 16 Nigerian teams. This event is part of the efforts to promote sports and academic excellence in Nigerian universities.

These developments show that while there might not be a Wigwe university starting academic activities, the education and sports sectors in Nigeria are actively evolving and growing.
