De Confederation of African Football (CAF) don officially cancel de second-leg match between Nigeria‘s Super Eagles and Libya‘s Mediterranean Knights for de 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Dis decision come after Nigeria pull out from de match because of de way dem treat dem at Al Abraq Airport in Libya. De Super Eagles had been scheduled to face Libya in Benghazi on Tuesday, October 15, but dem no play de match because of de bad conditions dem face at de airport.
According to reports, de Nigerian team spend over 15 hours at de airport without food, water, or Wi-Fi. Dem also sleep on chairs during de wait. Dis experience make dem decide to return home instead of playing de match.
CAF announce dis decision on Tuesday via their official X handle and say dem launch investigation into de situation. De Libyan Football Federation (LFF) dey blame Nigeria for de cancellation and threaten to take legal action against dem.
De incident dey cause tension between de two countries, especially after Libya complain about how dem treat dem during de first leg match in Uyo, Nigeria. Now, CAF dey look into de matter and decide what to do next.
