Govt Don Adopt 88 International Standards for CNG Vehicles

Nigeria government don take big step to ensure safety and efficiency for Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles. According to recent announcement, Federal Government don adopt 88 international standards for CNG products. This move dey in line with President Bola Tinubu‘s agenda to promote the use of natural gas in the country.

The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) be the body wey conduct this adoption. SON say the new standards go help in ensuring the quality and safety of CNG systems in vehicles. This include standards for CNG cylinders, valves, and other critical components.

SON also mention say dem conduct factory visits to China and other places to ensure compliance with these new standards. The aim be to support the ongoing rollout of CNG initiatives in Nigeria and to make sure that only quality products dey used.

This development go help in reducing the risks associated with CNG vehicles and promote sustainable practices in the energy sector. It also align with global best practices and show Nigeria’s commitment to climate change mitigation.
