Lagos State Sports Commission don launch di pilot edition of ‘Lagos Active Challenge’ across five locations for di state. Dis initiative dey designed to encourage physical activity among residents, and e hold for Mobolaji Johnson Sports Centre, Rowe Park, Adekunle Ifako-Ijaiye, Isolo, and Obanikoro.
Director General of Lagos State Sports Commission, Lekan Fatodu, talk say di challenge aim to leverage di growing awareness of exercise importance in maintaining active lifestyle. “By engaging in aerobics, we are actually reducing health costs and taking a significant population away from hospitals. As a government, we acknowledge di importance of physical exercises and their impact on socio-economic advancement and development of di state,” Fatodu say.
Participants for di event praise di initiative, with Abraham Abiodun from Obanikoro location saying, “It is not my first time engaging in exercises. I can even do a road jog from National Stadium to Maryland.” Another participant, Hannah Oregwe, add say, “Di importance of exercise to my body is indescribable. My little daughter encourage me to imbibe an active and physical lifestyle.”
Both participants thank Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for promoting citizens’ well-being through physical activities. Fatodu stress say promoting di ‘Lagos Active Challenge’ be collective responsibility, urging all Lagosians to embrace healthy lifestyle.
