The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) don dey call on President Bola Tinubu to reverse the recent hike in petrol price until the court verdict on the matter.
According to reports, SERAP filed a lawsuit last month against the Federal Government and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), challenging the legality of the petrol price increase and the failure to repair Nigeria’s refineries.
SERAP dey argue say increasing petrol prices while the Federal High Court case is pending would prejudice and undermine the ability of the court to do justice in the case. Dem also say it would damage the rights of Nigerians to affordable fuel.
The organization emphasize say the government should await the court’s decision before taking any further action on fuel prices. Dis move dey come as many Nigerians dey suffer under the high cost of fuel, which affect households, transportation, and even hospitals.
