Wanda Smith, Atlanta Radio Legend, Don Die at 58

Wanda Smith, wey be popular radio personality and comedian for Atlanta, don die at de age of 58. Smith was well known for her work on V-103, where she host de morning show ‘Frank and Wanda in de Morning’ with Frank Ski from 1998 to 2012. She also work with Ryan Cameron from 2014 to early 2018 before rejoining Frank Ski again for another stint at de radio station.

Smith, who be from Miami, also make her mark in de entertainment industry as a writer for ‘Def Comedy Jam’ and ‘Comicview’. She appear in several films, including ‘Madea Goes to Jail’, ‘Madea’s Witness Protection’, and ‘The Drone That Saved Christmas’.

Aside from her radio and comedy career, Smith was also a philanthropist. She start de organization ‘Girls Stand Together, Inc.’, which aim to empower young girls to become amazing young women.

Condolences have been pouring in from de entertainment industry, including from actress and comedienne Loni Love, who describe Smith as “de ultimate entertainer” and a pillar in de Atlanta community.

V-103, where Smith worked, announce her death on social media and plan to pay tribute to her on Sunday morning during ‘Sunday Morning Praise with Larry Tinsley’. The station is asking callers to share their stories and experiences with Smith as they pay homage to an Atlanta icon.

Smith is survived by her husband, LaMorris Sellers, and their three children. A cause of death has not yet been released.
