Kwara State government don take bold step to tackle gender-based violence by unveiling a special committee to handle the issue. This announcement was made on October 12, 2024, as part of the celebrations for International Girl Child Day.

The committee, which was set up to proffer solutions to gender inequalities, will focus on addressing challenges such as gender-based violence, limited access to education, economic inequality, and social injustices. According to reports, stakeholders at the event emphasized the need for sustained funding in the fight against gender-based violence.
