One man wey dem identify as Lanre Ogungbe don reportedly commit suicide inside one short let hotel for Ogun State. The incident happen on October 10, 2024, at Authentic Hotel on Soyoye Road in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State.
According to the information wey The Eagle Online get, the man take combination of snipper and local herbal drink to end his life. The hotel owner, Odeyemi Adeboye, report the incident to the police at Lafenwa Division under the Ogun State Police Command around 3:30pm on the same day.
Adeboye say that at about 2pm on October 10, his manager raise alarm about 32-year-old Ogungbe, who come to the hotel for short rest. The receptionist, after noticing that the expected customer no dey seen, go check on him and discover his lifeless body on the bed.
The police source tell The Eagle Online that dem condone off the scene, leaving the exhibits untouched before the complainant make formal report of the incident to the police. As soon as the report reach dem, detectives react swiftly, find Ogungbe’s body on the bed alongside an empty bottle of Lakoko alcohol and another bottle of snipper, which dem suspect say he consume.
There no be signs of violence on his body. His remains dem evacuate to the General Hospital, Ijaye for medical examination, where dem pronounce him dead and deposit his body in the morgue for post-mortem examination.
When dem contact the spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, she confirm the development. Odutola, a Superintendent of Police, say: “A thorough investigation is ongoing.”
