Bishop David Oyedepo, wey be the Chancellor of Covenant University, don talk say him never collect any wage from the university since dem start am in 2001. Him make dis statement during the 19th convocation ceremony of the university.
For the convocation ceremony wey happen on Friday, a total of 339 students bag first-class degrees, which be the first time such thing happen in the history of the institution. The Registrar of the university, Mrs Regina Tobi-David, announce dis during the ceremony.
The convocation, wey dem theme as “Release of Eagles for 2024,” celebrate the graduation of 1,607 students, including 1,456 undergraduates and 151 postgraduates. Bishop Oyedepo congratulate the students and emphasize how their testimonies of success and breakthroughs be his wages.
Bishop Oyedepo stress say the success of the students and the university be what give him joy and satisfaction, rather than any financial reward.
