The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, don advise Nigerians to stop cursing their leaders, even if dem no dey do well. Instead, he urge Nigerians to pray for dem so that God can change dem for better.
The Sultan make dis appeal during a public lecture and special book presentation in honour of Professor Is’haq Oloyede at the University of Ilorin. He say, “No matter how bad your leaders be, no dey curse dem, but pray for dem. If you pray for dem, Almighty God fit make dem turn new leaf and become better person wey you go enjoy”.
The Sultan also talk about how important it be to respect leaders and not talk ill of dem. He add say, “Don’t condemn your leaders. No matter how bad dem be, pray for dem”.
This message come at a time when many Nigerians dey express frustration with their leaders. But the Sultan believe say prayer fit bring positive change and make leaders perform better.
