One tragic incident wey happen for Ondo State na the arrest of a female SS3 student of Akoko Anglican Grammar School, Arigidi Akoko, for allegedly stabbing her male colleague to death. The incident occur outside the school premises after school hours, following an argument between the two students.
The Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Abayomi Oladipupo, confirm the arrest on Thursday and state that the case has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation. Oladipupo say, “The suspect is with us and the matter has been with the CID and we shall begin the investigation,” during a media briefing at the command’s headquarters in Akure.
The police also parade 12 other suspects involved in various criminal activities, including murder, arson, stealing, and armed robbery. Oladipupo emphasize the command’s commitment to maintaining public safety in the state, especially as Ondo State prepare for its upcoming governorship election.
Oladipupo urge politicians to maintain peace and warn that the police will not tolerate any form of violence before, during, or after the polls. He appeal to all political figures to promote respect and cooperation among their supporters to ensure a peaceful exercise.
