Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, wey be the Chairman of the League of Northern Democrats, don donate the sum of N50 million to victims of the recent flooding in Borno State. The flooding had submerged Maiduguri and its environs, causing significant hardship to the residents.
The donation was made on Wednesday, and Shekarau explained that the money was collected from individual donations from members of the League of Northern Democrats. The donations ranged from N10,000 to N2 million from various members across the Northern region.
During the presentation of the cheque, Shekarau praised Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State for his efforts in addressing the flood crisis and supporting the affected communities.
This gesture by the League of Northern Democrats is part of the broader efforts to provide relief to those affected by the floods in Borno State.
