UK YouTuber and rapper Yung Filly, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, has been arrested in Australia over allegations of sexual assault. The 29-year-old was taken into custody by Western Australia Police in Brisbane before being extradited to Perth.
The allegations stem from an incident that occurred on September 28, after Yung Filly performed at a nightclub in Hillarys, Perth. It is alleged that he sexually assaulted a woman in her 20s in his hotel room. The woman reported the incident, leading to his arrest by the WA sex assault squad detectives.
Yung Filly has been charged with four counts of sexual penetration without consent and three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm. Additionally, he faces a charge of impeding a person’s normal breathing or circulation by applying pressure to their neck.
The case was heard in the Perth Magistrates Court, where Yung Filly was represented by top-flight barrister Seamus Rafferty SC. His application for bail is currently being considered by the magistrate.
Yung Filly has a significant following on social media, with several million followers across his platforms, and has had success in the music industry with songs charting in the UK Top 40.
