Former Barcelona and Spain midfielder, Andres Iniesta, don announce his retirement from professional football at the age of 40. Iniesta make dis announcement in a video he post on his social media channels, where he talk about what football mean to him and how it affect his life.
Iniesta, wey be one of the greatest players in football history, play for several clubs including Barcelona, Vissel Kobe in Japan, and Emirates Club in UAE. For Barcelona, he win nine LaLiga titles and four Champions League trophies among the 32 trophies he win with the club. He also help Spain win the 2010 World Cup and two European Championships in 2008 and 2012.
Iniesta’s career be filled with many memorable moments, including the winning goal he score in the 2010 World Cup final against Netherlands. He also score a crucial goal against Chelsea in the 2009 Champions League semi-final that help Barcelona qualify for the final.
Lionel Messi, his former teammate at Barcelona, praise Iniesta, saying, “One of the teammates with the most magic and with whom I enjoyed playing the most. Football will miss you and so will we.”
Iniesta plan to start his coaching career by earning his coaching license. During his retirement announcement, he express his gratitude to all those who support him throughout his career and say that the tears he shed are tears of joy and pride, not sadness.
