Ogun and Osun States Declare Public Holiday for Teachers’ Day

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, don declare Monday, October 7, 2024, as work-free day for teachers inside the state. Dis decision na to celebrate dis year’s Teachers’ Day. Schools for the state go resume academic activities on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.

Abiodun make dis announcement on Saturday during the celebration wey hold at the Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, the state capital. He also approve the construction of 12 blocks of 900 smart classrooms in four schools across the state.

In addition, Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, also declare Monday, October 7, 2024, as a work-free day for all teachers in both public and private schools throughout the state. Dis holiday aim to recognise the invaluable contributions of teachers to the growth of the education sector.

World Teachers’ Day itself dey celebrated every year on October 5, but these states declare the following day as a public holiday to honour teachers.
