Matthijs de Ligt Backs Erik ten Hag Amidst Pressure at Manchester United

In interview with Sky Sports, De Ligt talk say, ‘To be fair, it’s quite funny because in my career, I’ve never had a trainer for longer than one and a half seasons.’ He add say, ‘So this is something that I hope I can have now, that I have a trainer or a manager who stays longer with me as a player so you can grow more together also.’

De Ligt don play most of his football under Ten Hag, making 78 appearances for both Ajax and Manchester United. He also play under Thomas Tuchel and Massimiliano Allegri. Ten Hag dey under serious pressure after poor start to de 2024/25 season, with United managing just three wins in their first 10 matches.

Some pundits, including Paul Scholes and Jamie Carragher, don criticize De Ligt’s performance since he join United. Scholes say De Ligt no better than Harry Maguire, while Carragher point out De Ligt’s positional errors during matches. Despite dis, De Ligt remain committed to Ten Hag and de team.
