Pastor Enoch Adeboye, wey be the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), don apologise for saying that Christians wey no pay tithe might not make heaven.
Adeboye, who be 82 years old, make dis apology while he dey address his congregation at the ongoing annual national youth convention of the church at RCCG Redemption City, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.He say, “I apologise for saying ‘If you don’t pay tithe, you might not make it to heaven.’ I’m sorry, that’s wrong, and it’s not in the Bible. What the Bible says is ‘Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see God’,”
Adeboye explain say it dey possible to be right and wrong at the same time. He use example of how people think say light dey travel in straight line, but later dem discover say light dey travel in waves.
He also talk about one man who start business with $500 and promise God to give more than 10% if God bless him. The man later make $50 million turnover after five years and Adeboye say dis inspire am to give more than 10% as tithe.
