Six countries don already secure dia place for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, as FIFA officially confirm the tournament unique hosting arrangement wey go spread across three continents.

The decision was formally approved by all 211 FIFA Member Associations during an Extraordinary FIFA Congress wey hold virtually for December 2024, concluding the governing body bidding process for both the 2030 and 2034 World Cups.

The countries wey don guarantee dia place for the tournament na Morocco, Portugal and Spain, wey go host the bulk of the competition, with 101 matches scheduled across the three countries.

Meanwhile, Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay go each stage one opening-week match as part of FIFA centenary celebrations.

FIFA say the arrangement was designed to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first World Cup, wey hold for Uruguay for 1930.

Uruguay go host the official centenary celebration and ceremony for Montevideo, recognising dia status as the host and winner of the inaugural tournament.

Argentina go host a match in recognition of dia role as runners-up for the 1930 competition, while Paraguay was selected because e be home to CONMEBOL, South America football governing body.

Following the three celebratory fixtures for South America, the tournament go move to Morocco, Portugal and Spain for the official opening ceremony and the remainder of the competition.

To accommodate the unprecedented six-country format, FIFA don confirm that the tournament schedule go include additional rest and travel days for the six teams wey dey involved for the South American centenary matches.

The opening celebratory games dey expected to take place on June 8 and 9, 2030, before the tournament officially begin for Morocco, Portugal and Spain on June 13 or 14.

The final dey scheduled for July 21, 2030.

FIFA say the revised timetable go remain within the existing international match calendar, meaning there go no be additional release period required for players or clubs despite the extra travel wey dey involve.
