Gov Yusuf don employ 8,588 teachers for Kano, commend FG for suspending NECO fees

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, don present appointment letters to 8,588 teachers as part of im administration drive to strengthen basic and secondary education across the state. Di beneficiaries include 4,900 newly recruited and trained teachers as well as 3,688 ABBA Gida-Gida Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) teachers. Di appointment letters were presented during a ceremony wey hold for di Indoor Sports Hall of di Sani Abacha Stadium for Kano.

Speaking at di event, Governor Yusuf describe di recruitment exercise as another major milestone for im administration commitment to rebuild di education sector through strategic investment for human capital. Im reiterate say education remain di foundation of sustainable development, stressing say no society fit achieve lasting progress without prioritising learning. Di governor disclose say im administration allocate 31 per cent of di 2026 state budget to education—one of di highest allocations for di country—adding say di investment dey already yield results.

Yusuf also applaud di Federal Government for suspending di proposed increase for NECO registration fees, describing di decision as a timely intervention wey go ease di financial burden on parents and improve access to education for students nationwide.
