Di African Confederation don announce say di number of teams wey go play for Africa Cup of Nations go increase from 24 to 28, starting from di next edition wey go happen for 2027.
Patrice Motsepe, wey be president of Confederation of African Football (CAF), make di announcement for press conference wey hold for South Africa on Wednesday.
According to Motsepe, di move na to give more countries chance to reach di finals. E say CAF always dey work to strengthen dia competitions and raise di standard within dem.
Di 2027 tournament go dey hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, from 19 June to 17 July. Di last four editions don feature 24 sides, wey start for 2019 tournament for Egypt.
Now CAF don add four more places from di next edition onwards. Di Africa Cup of Nations go return again for 2028, before e switch to four-year cycle after dat one.
