Nollywood actor Joseph Momodu join US Army, honour late papa

Nollywood actor Joseph Momodu don announce im enlistment into United States Army, and im say dis achievement na tribute to im late father and result of months of hard physical and mental training.

Di actor share di news for im official Instagram account on Friday, and im reveal say im don complete 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, before dem officially enlist am as Specialist for US Army.

For im post, Momodu tok say di accomplishment na through perseverance, sacrifice and determination. Im write say, “From inception, I have always believed in achievements earned through merit, which is why I constantly push myself beyond limits.”

According to am, di training period test am for ways wey im never imagine before, involving “tears, fear of failure, resilience, endless days, short nights, fatigue, rain, and the scorching sun.”

Di actor admit say der bin be moments wen im doubt imself, but im remain focused on completing di programme. Im tok say, “There were moments of doubt and times I questioned myself, ‘who send me message sef’? But I never lost sight of the finish line.”

Momodu further reveal say di experience transform am completely. Im write say, “We trained tirelessly, were broken down and rebuilt. I went to sleep a civilian and woke up a soldier,” and im add say di 10-week programme teach am to “find comfort in discomfort.”

Di actor disclose say im enlistment carry special emotional significance because e enable am to continue family legacy. Im state say, “On April 12, 2026, I honored my late father in a historic way. Twenty years after his passing, I picked up the baton where he left off in the Nigerian Police Force and carried it forward by getting enlisted into the United States Army.”
