Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, LASEPA, don shut down plenty hotels, churches, lounges, and other businesses across the state for noise pollution and breaking environmental regulations.
The enforcement operation happen on Monday, June 15, 2026, as LASEPA join hand with Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps, KAI, to carry out the exercise.
According to LASEPA, the action come after reports of ongoing noise pollution and other environmental violations. The agency say the operation was directed by Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, as part of efforts to protect residents from environmental disturbances and ensure compliance with state laws.
The affected businesses dey accused of offences like excessive noise, air pollution, obstructing government officials from doing their work, and failing to obey regulatory directives.
Among those wey dem seal na Golden Click Hotel for Baruwa, 14:02 Lounge & Bar for Ipaja, and Cherubim and Seraphim Church for Surulere, all for noise pollution. Max Lounge for Surulere dem shut am for both noise and air pollution.
PetroSafe Gas Station on Ijesha Road also dem seal am for allegedly obstructing officials and failing to comply with environmental regulations.
Other establishments wey dem affect include Kilo Hotel, The Hotel Macs, Hotel Bel Am, Fecomillion Hotel, Serena Hotel and Suites, CitiLounge, and Gariot.
LASEPA say the affected businesses don receive several warnings before but dem fail to comply with environmental regulations.
Speaking on the operation, LASEPA General Manager, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, say environmental compliance na shared responsibility and urge both individuals and businesses to follow environmental laws. He add say the agency go continue enforcing regulations to reduce pollution and create a cleaner, healthier, and safer environment for Lagos residents.
The latest enforcement na part of Lagos State Government broader efforts to improve environmental standards and public safety across the state. Earlier for May 2026, the government also seal several properties for Lekki and Ikeja for failing to meet elevator safety requirements.
