OpenAI report say their own tool reach similar level of performance for tasks wey dem set. But both companies no dey give everybody access. For example, Bank of England governor Andrew Bailey complain say UK banks still no fit use Mythos to test their own digital systems and apps.
Former UK Chancellor George Osborne, wey now be senior executive for OpenAI, tell BBC say Bailey never contact am directly. Some UK banks like Lloyds Banking Group, HSBC, and Nationwide don get access to OpenAI tool. NatWest and Santander already get access under old agreements. Anthropic say dem dey work urgently to expand access to Mythos.
But the company dey more careful because the tool strong pass. Anthropic first open am to 42 companies, mostly US tech firms. Dem also dey work to give access to banks for EU, Japan, and Canada.
Both companies charge money for usage. Anthropic even put $100m towards Mythos previews. Prof Alan Woodward, cybersecurity expert from Surrey University, say e no think say these tools go find tins wey humans no fit find eventually. But dem dey relentless and thorough for sorting through millions of lines of code for banking apps.
For UK, some banking code dey very old, and AI go help find problems. Woodward say dem fit do many weeks’ work for minutes, but dem also get false positives. So human still need to check their findings.
