LP and AA dey plan to back SDP’s Adebayo for 2027

Indications dey show say Labour Party (LP) and Action Alliance (AA) for Anambra fit support the presidential candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Dr. Adeboye Adewale, ahead of 2027 general elections.

Prince Chinedu Ekwunife, wey be Anambra State Chairman of SDP, drop this news on Saturday after the party hold primary elections for State House of Assembly and House of Representatives for Awka.

Ekwunife also reveal say two other political parties don approach national leadership of SDP for possible alliance talks before the elections.

According to am, representatives of Labour Party and Action Alliance attend SDP presidential convention and express interest to support the party’s presidential candidate.

“When we hold our convention, we see the presence of Labour Party and Action Alliance because dem want to ensure support for our presidential candidate, Dr. Adeboye Adewale, wey be the sole candidate of SDP now,” Ekwunife talk.

“We still get room to adjust our timetable in case oda people want join SDP movement.”

“Oda parties don show interest to work with us to actualize our goal of presenting credible and courageous candidate wey fit move the country forward,” Ekwunife add.

He state say the primary elections for the state be peaceful and transparent, as officials of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) monitor the process wey dem conduct through Option A4 direct primary system.

“INEC officials dey present to ensure say the process comply with Electoral Act. Dem monitor the exercise and describe am as one of the most peaceful primaries wey dem witness,” he talk.

Meanwhile, Hon. Nonso Okolo emerge as SDP House of Representatives candidate for Awka North and South Federal Constituency during the primary election.

Speaking on behalf of oda candidates, Okolo say the party dey determined to challenge the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the state.

He pledge to focus on youth empowerment, agriculture, healthcare delivery, and improved welfare for women and elderly if dem elect am.

“We dey committed to deliver dividends of democracy to our people by focusing on youth empowerment, agriculture and effective healthcare delivery,” he talk.

Also speaking, South-East Zonal Organising Secretary of SDP, Mr. Vincent Atuigwe, express satisfaction with conduct and outcome of the primaries.

“We ensure say credible candidates emerge to challenge the bigger political parties for the coming elections,” he state.

Anambra State Secretary of SDP, Mr. Udoka Onyezubelu, also describe the exercise as peaceful, transparent, and credible, with large turnout of party members and supporters.
