This one na awareness campaign wey dem use show Anambra people the koko behind quackery and substandard materials wey fit spoil person life.
As dem dey waka for street, the engineers add serious ginger with their placards wey drop messages like, “Safe building na human right”, “Engineering ethics must come before profit”, and “Infrastructure failure na national emergency”. Wetin dis people dey try talk be say, if you no follow proper procedure for building, e go backfire!
Chairman of di institute, Chidi Obiudu, talk say, dem dey try change people mentality about building matter. He say, ‘We want everybody to know say, safety and professional ethics dey important to stop this building collapse wey dey happen plenty for this state.’ No be say dem just dey shout o, dem get plan to engage everybody wey dey involve for construction, make sure say wetin dem dey build no go collapse like house of cards.
Obiudu wey dey also a Rotarian, don talk sense, say quackery dey cause too much waste and loss for the country. E stress say, “Hiring professionals fit cost you small money but e go save you from plenty wahala and tragedy later.” E follow am talk say since dem don start dis awareness campaign, dem don see serious improvement. As we dey follow di gists, the State Assembly Committee on Works and Infrastructure Chairman, Emma Nwafor join body, come talk say construction matter no be play. Him talk say to build anything, you must follow proper rules, regulations, and specifications, and na professional engineers get di know-how to do am well.
