New Zealand don cut red tape for electric car chargers

For di first time, di NES-ETA explicitly include EV charging infrastructure. Permitted activity rules go cover everything from construction to operation, upgrade and replacement.

Di amendments apply to four types of EV charging infrastructure: private EV chargers, EV chargers for transport corridor, EV chargers associated with oda infrastructure like service stations or supermarkets, and standalone EV charging facilities including charging hubs.

“Many New Zealanders don think about getting EV,” Bishop continue. “Even before di fuel challenges wey we dey face now. But lack of public chargers still dey hold pipo back.”
