Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, don come out clear say all dis gist about fight between Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and President Bola Tinubu na pure speculations. Omotoso talk say na people wey get too much imagination dey spread dis kain rumours. Him ask, “How will a father say there is no future in his home?” Him dey refer to Tinubu as father to Sanwo-Olu. Him insist say President no dey vex with Governor.
“The President has not told anybody that he is not pleased with Mr Sanwo-Olu,” Omotoso yarn. “If he is not pleased with Mr Sanwo-Olu, he will not be coming to say that Mr Sanwo-Olu should host him.”
The commissioner argue say Tinubu visits to Lagos show say relationship dey cordial. As President and Commander-in-Chief, Tinubu fit go anywhere for Nigeria, but Omotoso believe say him no go choose state wey him no happy with leadership.
About 2027 succession matter for Lagos, Omotoso talk say dem never even begin discuss am officially. Him address social media rumours wey dey fly upandan. “That is not even being discussed as far as I am concerned,” him yarn. “The question of succession would be discussed.”
Omotoso also defend cost of Ojota–Opebi Link Bridge wey Sanwo-Olu administration build. The bridge cost about ₦279 billion. Commissioner talk say scale and complexity justify am. “Have you seen the bridge?” him ask. “It is not anywhere, not everywhere in Nigeria that you can find this kind of bridge.”
Him describe bridge wey get 5.04 kilometres with roads, about 2.80 part bridged. Get 146 metres of adjoining roads and about four underpasses. “For you to have all of these facilities in one place, it must cost a fortune,” Omotoso conclude.
