Police Catch Four Bad Guys, Seize Guns and Ice for Akwa Ibom

Akwa Ibom State Police don show say dem no dey sleep as dem catch four suspects and collect firearms and dangerous drugs for separate operations wey dem carry out for Eket and Okopedi areas. Dis na part of di command effort to reduce crime for di state.

Di Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, talk say di arrests happen on March 21, 2026, after police follow intelligence wey dem get. For Okopedi, police raid one criminal hideout around 7:45 pm and arrest Paul Sunday, Nelson Ekpa, Akaninyene Valentine and Idongesit Harrison.

According to di police statement, di suspects dey with items wey dem dey use prepare and take illegal substances. Dem find empty Squadron bottles wey people dey use take abuse drugs, plus some quantity of crystal meth wey dem dey call Ice.

For another operation for Abia Uduk Street for Ikot Ebok, police respond to report of suspicious movement. As di police reach di area, some hoodlums wey dey there run away. While dem dey run, one of dem drop one yellow nylon bag wey contain two locally made pistols and two live cartridges.

Di police say all di suspects dey for custody now and investigation dey ongoing. Di Commissioner of Police for Akwa Ibom, Baba Azare, don order di operations as part of continuous effort to make di state safe.

DSP Timfon John talk say di command dey committed to remove all criminal elements from Akwa Ibom State. Dem dey intensify action against illegal firearms and substance abuse. Di police spokesperson beg members of di public to give useful information to support di fight against crime.

Di News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) report say di police operations show di relentless effort of Akwa Ibom Police to maintain peace and security for di state. Residents dey commend di police for di quick action, but dem still dey ask for more security measures for di area.

Dis arrest come as police for different parts of Nigeria dey increase operation against crime. For Akwa Ibom, di command don promise to continue to work with communities to identify and arrest criminals wey dey disturb peace.
