Dem say dem recover 415 live cartridges from commercial bus wey dey waka for Calabar–Itu highway. E happen for January 23, 2026, around 11pm, as police dey do their usual stop-and-search duty.
According to wetin the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, talk, the bus wey carry the cartridges get registration number ARR 600 ZY. Na Ikenna dey drive the motor with plenty passengers inside. When dem search the vehicle, dem find the carton full with the cartridges. Wetin make e funny be say, the driver yan say the ammunition no be him own, say na waybill wey dem dey transport go Calabar.
But no be only the driver dem catch o. One woman wey dey call herself Excel, try to obstruct police work as she dey behave like person wey don drink too much sapele water. As she dey make noise, dem no waste time to nab her. Plus, another passenger wey call himself Bright, claim say him be official for Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, join for the drama too. Na serious matter as he no fit show valid ID and begin fight police. All of dem dey ground for police station now.
Wetin concern me be say as dem carry dem come police station, dem find one Ndubisi Raphael, wey na 36-year-old guy from Nyaje village for Akamkpa Local Government Area. He don join the set for here too. Police Commissioner for the state, Baba Mohammed Azae, don give order make dem investigate the matter well well.
