Di man tell police say im pikin disappear since March 18. Di papa add say one unknown person call am on March 19 demand N500,000 ransom, and im pay N100,000, but dem no release di pikin.
Di investigation wey police carry out lead to di arrest of Rabiu Safiyanu, wey be 20 years old and dey live for di same area. Police say di suspect na friend to di younger broda of di complainant, and im get free access to di house. Nafiu Habib explain say during interrogation, di suspect confess say im kidnap di pikin, strangle am, and bury di body for shallow grave for Warinje Hills before im continue to demand more ransom.
Police later recover di decomposing body of di victim from di site, and dem see signs of strangulation. Dem also find rope wey dem suspect say dem use for di crime. Di Officer in Charge of Police Clinic confirm say di pikin don die, and dem document di body before dem release am to di family for burial on public health grounds.
Di Commissioner of Police for Bauchi State, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, don direct di State Criminal Investigation Department to take over di case for further investigation and prosecution. Di police command advise residents to dey vigilant and report any suspicious activity to security agencies on time.
Dis incident happen less than four days after di same police command announce say dem arrest four siblings for connection with di killing of one security guard for farm for Jama’are Local Government Area. Dat incident happen for early morning of March 15, 2026, when hunters raise alarm about attack on three private guards for farm wey Idris Waziri Kwamawa own.
