Wetin happen be say Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, wey be APC National Chairman, talk say no automatic tickets for anybody, but the governors don carry body for dem own as biggest assets. Na wetin Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, wey be the Forum chairman, dey talk now.
Dem don vex for people wey dey suggest make governors contest for primaries again. According to dem, e go be serious disrespect to the office of the Governor. Na him dem dey count as the party’s strong tools, and if dem allow anybody challenge dem, na disaster fit follow.
For 2019, nobody even challenge Buhari and the APC governors for primary; so, wetin change now? Na so dem dey reason am, say making governors face primary go fit scatter the party and give opposition the chance to shine.
The Forum talk say primaries fit only happen for states wey governor don finish him tenure, but no make we dey open ticket for incumbent wey wan run another term. Na unprofessional move, and e go dey counterproductive. Dem dey talk am clearly o!
And no be only that one, dem don talk sey the National Working Committee no suppose hold party structures from the governors ahead of nationwide congresses. Some elders like Yekini Nabena don warn sey if dem do am, e fit spoil grassroots support. But the North-Central APC Forum don stand gidigba sey governors na the leaders for their states, and any attempt to change wetin dey work go just create wahala.
Dis one na loud message to all the APC members say make dem no make any plans wey go dey shake the party, especially as 2027 dey come. Dem dey call for peace, unity, and respect for the governors wey dey lead their states. So, as dem dey prepare for next elections, make we dey shine eye and follow the gist! No wahala.
