Big wahala dey as judge wey dey handle one serious case don recuse himself! Justice Obiora Egwatu just announce, say him go step aside from di case wey involve former Attorney-General, Abubakar Malami, and two other people. E talk say na personal matter wey make am no fit continue. Wahala no dey reach small.

As di court dey settle matter, Justice Egwatu tell everybodi say for di better interest of justice, him go handover di case to di Chief Judge make dem find another judge wey fit take over. Na for important matter like this, di judge no fit dey carry personal issues enter court, abi? Straight up!

This recusal come as dem dey hustle over 57 properties wey di Federal Government don take over, properties wey dem value reach ₦213.2 billion! Na large amount o, my people! Last month, Justice Emeka Nwite don order make di assets be temporarily forfeited. Dis one don happen after di Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) apply for am, saying dat di properties fit be proceeds of illegal activities linked to Malami.

Dis portfolio no be small play o, e include university buildings, hotels, plazas, filling stations, residential estates, and plenty land for Abuja, Kebbi, Kano, and Kaduna. EFCC dey claim say dem suspect say di properties no follow normal way of acquisition. Dem order sef make EFCC publish notice for national newspaper, call any interested person make dem come talk wetin dey happen within 14 days.

But Malami no gree sit down make dem spoil im name like dat. E don challenge di forfeiture order, claiming say e get di money wey im own legit and him don declare am to di right authorities. Di former AGF dey call dis whole arrangement “conflicting outcomes” and “duplicative litigation,” and e still dey shout say e go violate im right to property and family life if dem no allow am. E even request make dem stop EFCC from touching properties numbered 9, 18, and 48 wey dey ground.
