My people, you don hear wetin dey happen for education wahala for Naija? Women in Chemistry don yarn dey call out NDDC, NEDC and other big boys dem to jaga jaga schools with proper science laboratories. Dem chop our education, e don bad no be small!

Na for International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry 2026 Global Women’s Breakfast wey happen for Delta State, WIC Coordinator, Dr Sarah Nwinee, come talk say na poor conditions dey make young girls no want shine for science, especially Chemistry. Imagine say dem dey study for place wey no fit help dem at all; e go make anybody kpai!

Dr Nwinee wey dey clock her last year as coordinator, sabi say science dey important, but wetin use am if dem no fit do practicals for school? She vex say many schools no even get laboratories wey dey work, yet dem wan make children pass WAEC without practicing wetin dem learn. How dem wan take shine like that?

She still add say dem don jack up competition prizes from small small N50k, N30k, N20k to big N250k, N150k, N100k to ginger the students make dem dey serious for their studies. The lady no wan make any girl lose focus o!

For the breakfast, wey dem carry come with the theme ‘Many Voices, One Science’, Dr Mariefel Olarte put mouth too, dey talk say if scientists no dey transparent, na so dem go shake the bicycle of progress and fall. Meanwhile, Simon Seaton from Society of Petroleum Engineers dey talk how chemistry fit help oil and gas wahala as dem no fit dey play with di science for production.

Prof Ellas Elemike wey be chairman for Chemical Society of Nigeria, Delta Chapter, don stress say dem need to inspire young minds before all the old scientists don retire. Make dem dey ready, as he bring gist about ‘Train the Trainer’ wey go improve how teachers dey handle science for the classrooms.
