Women Health Matter: Naija Government Don Jomọ for Action

Dr. Adanna Steinacker, wey be the Senior Special Assistant to the President, don talk am during one meeting wey happen for Abuja with plenty women leaders and NGOs. Dem gather no be small to discuss how to make women’s health matter for wahala wey dey for obodo.

She carry come light say dem go use the RenewHER initiative wey President Bola Tinubu launch for September 11, 2025. RenewHER na initiative wey dey focus on health, equity and reform. Na so dem plan to collaborate with Ministry of Health and Women’s Affairs to put women’s health for front of national development.

Dr. Steinacker no gree make matter end for there o! She talk say RenewHER get three important pillars. First na the digital media and advocacy hub wey dem go use for better information wey go fit improve health literacy among Naija women… e good make dem sabi how to access health service dem, no be so?

Second pillar na to run campaigns for different regions wey go target special issues for women dem. Dem ready to take action and make sure say na all regions go enjoy the plan, no be only for Abuja side. Third pillar, na to gather plenty people together – like coalitions, symposia and summits, so that all of dem fit work as one for women health matter.

Dr. Adedolapo Fasawe, wey dey in charge of Health Services and Environment Secretariat, don show say her office go support any good plan wey fit boost women’s health. This thing dey sweet me because na so we go begin break barriers wey dey stop women from getting better health care.

For another meeting wey happen recently, Dr. Steinacker meet with MWAN, the Medical Women Association of Nigeria, to check how dem fit join hands collaborate better. She hail dem for their effort and talk say na dem sabi pass how to address women and girls’ health issues.

Dr. Zainab Mohammad-Idris, wey dey lead MWAN, don also throway mouth for the matter, show say dem ready to collaborate anytime wey dem call dem. Na time for women to shine bright and make their voices heard!

With this kind steps wey government dey take, we fit hope sey we go see better days ahead for women’s health. Naija women no go dey suffer in silence again!
