My people, e be like say hunger no go allow us rest for dis country! Na why Federal Government don kolo food and nutrition assistance wey go reach 20,000 vulnerable households for Sokoto State. Dis na serious wahala wey dem dey try solve, as dem launch am last week Monday wey just pass.
The man wey dey in charge, Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu, wey na Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, come show face join Sokoto State Government and their partners for dis event. He praise Governor Ahmed Aliyu for him commitment to humanitarian work, say na big sign of leadership. Chai! If na me, I go just show face from my corner, but dis governor come carry him family matter waka come check wetin dey happen, nah serious gbege!
Sununu talk say dem dey focus on those wey no get reach, especially women, children, elderly and people wey get disabilities. E no be just to distribute food, but to help dem maintain their dignity and improve wetin dem dey chop. Wetin dem go provide include rice, beans, millet, groundnuts, palm oil, salt, and tomatoes. Dem go even dey carry nutrition supplies and essential medicines go some hospitals wey dey treat malnutrition. E mean say dem no dey slack at all!
As e stand so, dem talk say over 35 million Nigerians dey face serious hunger wahala. Sununu don drop serious warning say community-based humanitarian responses go help us well-well, as hunger no dey respect anybody. Na so he talk say dem no go just stop for emergency relief; dem go add skills acquisition and livelihood support join to help beneficiaries stand on their own two feet.
Governor Aliyu come dey on top matter too, as he thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for choosing Sokoto as the first place to launch dis project. Him talk say dem go really feel dis initiative, especially as Ramadan dey come soon, wey dey bring hope to plenty people. E no go wrong to help the vulnerable, especially when dem dey suffer like dis.
Aliyu still carry plenty gist join, as him mention say dem dey distribute food and cash to victims of banditry, orphans, and even displaced persons. Dem dey partner with UNDP to build house for dem wey no get where to stay. E show say them dey serious with dis distribution thing and no be play. Him still tell dem officials make dem fear Allah and ensure say correct people dey get the food.
Even the Sultan of Sokoto sef dey represent by District Head of Wurno, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, na him praise both Federal and State Government for dem inclusive approach. E talk say dis kind programme dey show say them dey serious about the welfare of the vulnerable ones.
So, this whole matter na part of big plan wey Federal Government get to tackle food insecurity and malnutrition for northern Nigeria, with Sokoto na the key place wey dem dey use. Naijas, abeg make we all dey watch as dem begin distribute dis food, make sure say who dem suppose give, receive am well! Make everybody function together for better living!
