Since December 2023, Airtel don increase dem network sites by 15.5%! Dem fit add 2,242 new spots wey carry dem total reach to 16,711. Na wah! And as dem dey hustle, 99% of dem network dey bring hot 4G speeds. Na you wan stream your favourite film or download that the latest jam? Airtel don make am happen!
Chief Technology Officer, Harmanpreet Singh Dhillon, no carry last as e talk say dem don increase dem 4G spectrum by 10MHz. Wetin that mean? E mean say speed go dey sharp like razor! Plus, dem dey optimize all dem network to make sure say service go dey better, especially when many people dey use am for busy areas.
And no forget say Airtel dey launch dem 5G all over! In just three months, dem don double the active 5G sites. Na so dem dey plan to connect top 20 cities for Naija to 5G before year run out! E go sweet no be small!
Plus, Airtel dey work with satellite service providers like OneWeb and Starlink to make sure say even those folks for remote places fit connect. Na true, dem don start Nigeria first Direct-to-Cell collaboration with Starlink. So, small villages wey dey far go fit access internet and fintech services now. Na good news for our rural brothers and sisters!
Naija still get issues with internet cables, as we dey rely on just one submarine cable wey land for Lagos. But no worry! Airtel don plan to launch another one with the 2Africa submarine cable. Kwa Ibo for Akwa Ibom State go be the first landing site and this go make internet reach Northern and Southern regions easier!
With all these investments, Airtel dey build one strong cloud infrastructure to support dem new plans. Dem also dey plan one 38-megawatt data centre for Eko Atlantic wey go help Naija grow digitally. E get as e sweet!
