My people, Lagos na wahala zone o! E be like say the Lagos State Task Force no go rest as dem don carry out clean-up operation wey go make road use clearer for everybody. Dis recent one, na for Lagos Island, wey dem go after street traders wey dey block road like say dem no dey see say e dey affect everybody.
Adetayo Akerele, wey be the Task Force chairman, no gree carry last. E talk say dem dey fight against people wey dey display goods for road like say na dem own. Dem catch many traders wey dey block the highway and walkways—no be small matter!
As dem do the operation, dem confiscate plenty goods wey traders hide on top Davies and Breadfruit Streets, as dem dey restore normalcy for the area. Akerele come talk say the wahala wey dey happen no mean say dem dey like disturb people, but na for public safety. Na so e take caution traders wey dey block entrances, like St. Paul Primary School wey pupils no fit enter well. Wetin be dis now?
For Iyana-Ipaja Underbridge too, dem come clear unauthorised stalls wey dey waka for there. E good like dat abeg! People fit waka dey go anywhere dem dey go without stress. All dis goods wey dem collect go return back to Lagos State Government, abi na double wahala?
Akerele no fit hide im mind as e tell traders make dem obey road rules, else dem go face serious punishment. E no go funny if dem catch you dey block road when ogbonge wahala dey happen everywhere.
Make I no forget to mention say for January, our Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) don still dey fight cart pushers wey dey dump refuse for any space wey dem see. Cart pushers dey help small, but e no mean say anybody fit dey do anything dem like no dey see. Omoh, dem don catch plenty cart pushers wey dey collect rubbish and dey dump am for anywhere. Dem dey spoil the road; make una no dey patronise dis guys o!
Residents dey complain say LAWMA no dey come collect waste for dem area. Dem even dey shout say cart pushers don become dem only hope since dem dey do anyhow. E be like say dem no feel catch all these illegal cart pushers by the way e dey go. Na why some people dey suggest make dem integrate cart pushers into the proper waste management. E fit help solve small small.
Wahab, wey be Lagos State Commissioner for Environment, don talk say some of the waste dey collect for Olusosun landfill don change, and na why rubbish dey pile everywhere, including Kola section—we no wan hear story! But e get as dem dey plan to deploy more trucks and enforcement team wey go work day and night to clear rubbish and illegal trading.
At the end of the day, e go better for Lagos if everybody fit cooperate and follow the law. Na true, e no easy, but wetin we go do if no be public safety? Make we all join hands to keep our Lagos clean. Yes, we fit do am! Mumu no go fit stop person from dey buy and sell, but no go dey block road for people wey wan waka!
