JOHESU Strike Don End, Patients Go Finally Get Care

Naija health sector don see wahala wey e no go forget quickly, as JOHESU strike wey last for 84 days don finally come to an end. Na for Abuja, dem call off the strike after dem meet with federal government to fit settle di matter wey carry dem go strike in di first place.

Na so na. This strike wey be like woman wey no wan dey calm down, na because di government no gree adjust di health salary structure wey everybody dey talk about since 2021. E don day long wey dem dey shout say make dem make di salary better, but di government dey find am hard to do.

For di past three months, patients don suffer plenty for public hospitals. How person go dey carry pain like that, dey load dem on private hospitals wey dey charge them double? Wetin we go tell our people wey dey expect care? No be dem go jolly-jolly go get better service?

Dis one na story of pain and suffering – woman wey dey battle for her life dey go private hospitals to do her surgery, instead of enjoying di free healthcare wey we suppose get. One medical doctor, @popoolaadaniel, still yarn how person wey dey work for security suffer accident and die because hospital wey suppose revive am no get di necessary tools, all because of di strike.

At di end of di day, na ordinary Nigerians wey suffer, especially di poor ones wey no get money to carry go private facility. Dem dey tell us say maternal mortality don increase by 23 percent during dis time, while fatalities go sharp up to 16.75 percent. Wetin be dis one na? Nigeria health system na like a sliding door, e no dey stick to di right caliber of service!

Now, after dey negotiate, dem come agree say di strike go end so we fit go back to work. Patients go fit enter hospital from midnight of February 6, 2026, as dem look for quick solution to di problems. E don clear say dem go refund any salary for di workers wey fall under di no work, no pay policy wey dey limit dem during di strike.

Society go need make federal and state governments shake body, so dat dem no go allow dis type of bad wahala happen again. Dem still get many things to settle if di healthcare sector go fit work well, especially for people wey depend on dem for life.

JOHESU don talk say di resolution no fit be small thing. If government do di right thing, dem go see di health system begin to shine again. Di entire country don dey look up to dis resolution, and we go see if dem go follow through.

For all di health workers, this na small victory, but we no fit forget di pain wey patients don face. Na time for dem to truly appreciate how important we dey to di health of di nation. We need better facilities, better pay, and most importantly, we need dem to respect di hard work wey health workers dey put in. Na so e go be for Nigeria at the end of di day!
