Tochukwu yarn say he don dey stay for dat house since January 2024, and e don dey pay him rent like person wey get sense. But wahala come start when landlord give am notice say him wan do renovation, and make e no renew him rent.
Na so the tenant come beg for two weeks to move out after e don secure new place. But on February 3rd, when Tochukwu dey mind im own, e receive call from him wife say dem don remove the roof! Wetin dem go do now? Heaven hold am o, rain come start and all their property, documents, including certificate and wetin dey valuable don dey exposed.
Even as I dey talk to you now, e claim say property worth about N25 million don spoil for di matter! E no just be the materials alone o, him wife wey dey pregnant and two little pikin don also face the rain wahala! Na wetin we go call dis one again?
Police come intervene after dem hear di gist and don arrest di landlord. Grace Iringe-Koko, wey be di state Police Public Relations Officer, confirm say dem don detain am and dem dey investigate further. Na small matter wey go turn large for court! Gist, dem go bring am come justice side later.
Lawyer Raymond Okocha, wey dey run with di human rights group, don call dis incident serious injustice! He dey talk say dis kind action no dey correct at all, because na violation of law and e dey go against di family’s right to dignity!
Okocha yarn say landlord no fit just take law for im hand without court order, so di man go need to return everything destroy. Who gree say we go dey remove roof just like that during rainy season? Abeg! We dey follow dis matter as e dey unfold!
