The Ministry of Health for Ekiti don show us say that N68 million wey dem dey shout about na just one small part of the whole budget, no be total money wey dem get for primary healthcare. Wale Obelewaji, wey be the Information Officer, talk say that figure no fit give sense of all wetin dey happen for health sector.

Obelewaji come explain say when you add all the health sector votes together, e go total over N2 billion wey dem don budget for PHC alone in 2026. E even talk say this no include any money wey dey go for water, sanitation, and other health matter wey dey managed by other ministries.

Na so e clear say primary healthcare na teamwork matter; local, state, and federal government all dey involve. Na local government dey carry the main load, like maintaining PHC centers and providing money for basic services like immunization and health education.

State Government dey support them with coordination, supervision, and infrastructure. Obelewaji no dull, e make am clear say this N19.65 billion allocation go help dem push health delivery to the next level, plus dem target Universal Health Coverage by 2030. Na serious matter o!

Governor Biodun Oyebanji, wey dey lead the Ekiti people, don dey prioritize health since he comot for office. For 2025, dem spend over N33.7 billion on health matter, and believe me when I say over half of that money land for primary healthcare. Na big investment be that o!

Dem dey use this money cover plenty ground like fixing 103 PHC facilities, supporting Ulerawa health insurance payments under Ekiti Health Insurance Scheme, and also motivating health workers through the World Bank IMPACT Project.

Na so dem don commit N25.8 billion for health in 2022, N8.7 billion in 2023, and N16.8 billion in 2024. No forget say Governor Oyebanji sign the 2026 budget wey dey reach N415.57 billion into law on December 23, 2025. Dem call am Budget of Sustainable Governance; 53% na for recurrent expenses while 47% na for capital projects.

Even with this clear explanation, social media still dey fire with critics dey say na only N68 million dem budget for primary healthcare. E be like say some people just wan hear their own side of the story without checking the facts na! Stay tuned as we dey monitor the matter; this na serious gist wey dey show how health dey matter for people wey dey Ekiti.
