For her post wey she drop on January 27, Teigen, wey don dey 40, talk say na over 50 days wey she don dey sober. Na serious yarn be this, as she gree say she first relapse for 2020, but for this one, na pretty serious matter as she don dey reflect on how alcohol don shape her life.
She come dey talk say na the drinking wey no dey noisy and messy, but e dey happen quietly for background. E don turn na ‘quiet moments at home’ go dey mean ‘wine time’. Before she know am, na from evening to afternoon drinking don turn table. When e reach 11am, she go just dey wonder, ‘Wetin dey happen?’
Teigen also explain say, that time whe she dey talk with Carl Radke for her podcast, na hin make her check herself sharp-sharp. She gree say for her to fit appear for Star Search wey don return, alcohol no go fit dey anywhere near her dressing room. She sabi say if she no change, e no go fit work.
As she dey talk about her experience, e obvious say she don learn from all this as she talk am clear: ‘Turns out, without alcohol, I fit still be funny. I fit still dey stupid. I fit dey nervous like ogbonge.’ Na wetin wey she don learn since she don come back to sober life, and she no want go back again.
E get as e be this time around – no dey fine gimmicks or big celebrations. Just pure determination to face her life straight. She compare am to ‘old boyfriend wey she don talk bad about,’ say people no go really dey believe her anymore. But e no stop her, she dey proud say she don dey sober for 52 days and she no go turn back.
Na so our girl dey move, with support from her husband, John Legend, and from fans wey dey cheer her up. Teigen no forget to thank Radke for him honesty and open talks about him own sobriety journey too.
