Last Sunday, the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, yan say dem don improve security for plenty places, so from Monday, February 2, all schools fit start to dey operate again. Finally, children wey don dey chill for house fit return to their books again!
Before this announcement, plenty children for Kwara South dey face serious gbese as bandits dey run riot for the area, kidnapping people and carrying wahala for schools. Na why plenty parents withdraw their pikin dem from school as dem no wan take chance with dem lives.
Olohungbebe talk say, “E be like say things don cool down small, but we go still dey check am well.” E also confirm say security agencies dey do everything possible to make sure say bandits no go return come disturb una again.
This decision no be just to open school o, na serious work don dey happen as military troops and other security people dey chase bandits wey dey hide for bush. Some report show say about 250 of those criminals don already face their final bus stop!
Paretns and community leaders dey shout say this kind closure don create gap for education wey no suppose dey. As one parent from Oro talk am, “Wetin dem children do to deserve this? Na where dem born dem na im dey determine how dem go fit learn?”
Na im make dis reopening sweet for everybody! As school go resume, the government don urge parents and school authorities to work closely with security agencies. Make nobody comot eye for their pikin dem safety!
