This money no be play, e dey support infrastructure and security projects across Naija. This huge amount na from March 2024 to August 2025, total 17 months wey dey full of action!
The records wey come from the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation don show say dem use this money to improve infrastructure wetin dey scatter for our obodo Naija, and also to boost security wey dey face wahala. Dem dey try settle the palava wey dey happen for ground. This gist suppose make everybody reason—wetin dem go use the money do?
Inside the document wey dem carry come, dem yan say this N2.45 trillion wey dem send enter the states na only for development projects and security. But dem no talk how much e reach for each state or if na separate money from the monthly revenue allocation. From the 17 months, na all the money wey FG collect, dem don pay am out come zero balance as of August 25, 2025. Na serious matter o!
For 2024 alone, dem don distribute N1.184 trillion through four different payments, while for 2025, dem increase am to N1.266 trillion through six payments. So, e clear say money dey flow, but how far dem dey use am go? Na the question wey dey probe everybody now.
No forget say President Bola Tinubu also approve the Infrastructure Support Fund for all 36 states to help cushion the wahala when dem remove the petrol subsidy. Dem dey plan make this fund fit touch areas like transportation, agriculture, health, education, and more. Na serious matter wey suppose bring better change for Naija, but this na where we dey since?
But as e be, some people no dey happy about how dem dey spend this money. Auwal Rafsanjani, wey be Executive Director for Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre, don speak out, dey talk say the N1.6 trillion wey dem don spend no dey reflect any proper development for the country. E sharply criticize say na only power wey people dey find, election no go come wax write finish for 2027. E dey worry say public resources dey used anyhow without accountability.
But, no be everything be bad news! Recently, FG don approve N1 trillion for Metropolitan Rail Service for Kano State, wey go improve transportation system for the state and boost economic activities. Na better matter wey if dem fit run am well e go help to ease traffic and make movement easier for people.
So, my people, how we go take make this money work for us? Naija no fit continue like this; we need to hold dem accountable make sure say e no be only for mouth wey all these plans dey. Time don reach to see better results from the money!
