As e be, Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, don already order make dem close Onitsha Main Market for one week, because of di sit-at-home wey IPOB bin declare since July 30, 2021. E even talk say di sit-at-home dey cause wahala for di economy of di state, and chop don dey bin dey warn people make dem no dey follow am again.
But di traders no gree hear word o! Dem reply say di sit-in dey to show sympathy for their leader, Nnamdi Kanu, wey dey face trial because of him stand for Biafran separation. Na so IPOB come release statement on Friday talk say Soludo dey form alliance with “Abuja collaborators” wey wan scatter wetin dem dey fight for as Igbo people.
Di statement no end there, o! IPOB even call am “Biafra-wide solidarity strike.” Dem talk say every economic activity for South-East and other Biafran territories go shut down on February 2. Dem say dis one na direct reaction to di closure of Onitsha Main Market by di Governor, and say dem no go gree make dem intimidate their traders.
According to dem, “This action na a complete lockdown of all economic activities across Igboland and wider Biafran territories.” Dem insist say di sit-at-home no be by force, na voluntary thing wey people dey do to show solidarity.
IPOB dey beg everybody for South-East to stay for house on that date, make dem no do any commercial activity, and dem also dey urge supporters to no cause any gbege. “We call on all Biafrans across Anambra, Abia, Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi, and beyond to observe this solidarity strike peacefully,” dem add.
Dem still dey demand for Nnamdi Kanu’s release without any condition, say di Anambra State Government dey raise tension with di way dem dey treat traders economically. E never clear if di Anambra State Government go reply dis recent declaration as we dey talk here.
